Get clear, actionable feedback — and rewrite with confidence

If you want to strengthen your script and increase your chances of industry success, you need more than generic notes. You need thoughtful, practical feedback to unlock the full potential of your idea.

I won’t tell you how to write your script — it’s your story, after all. Instead, I’ll ask smart, constructive questions and offer targeted suggestions and examples that challenge you to think more deeply about your work. My goal is to help you discover your own solutions, sharpen your storytelling instincts, and get the very best out of your concept—not impose my version on it.

Why choose me?

I'm a double-award-winning screenwriter with a BA (Hons) in Scriptwriting for Film & Television from Bournemouth University and over 20 years’ experience as a professional script reader. I began my career with Portman Entertainment Ltd in 2000 and launched my own screenplay-reading service in 2010.

Alongside my development work, I’ve been commissioned to write seven feature screenplays and have achieved significant and consistent success in international screenwriting competitions and festivals around the globe. This combination of industry experience, creative insight, and proven results means you’ll receive honest, informed feedback that genuinely helps you grow as a writer — and move your script closer to its full potential.

Basic Development Notes

1–3 pages of focused, actionable development notes designed to strengthen your screenplay quickly and effectively. The feedback delivers targeted recommendations across all core storytelling areas, including genre clarity, narrative structure, pacing, action description, character development, and dialogue.

Rather than vague commentary, you’ll get practical guidance you can immediately apply to your rewrite, helping you identify what’s holding the script back and how to fix it.

This service is ideal if you want concise, high-impact feedback that provides direction, confidence, and tangible next steps for improving your script.

Extended Development Notes

3-6 pages of in-depth development notes, my most popular service offers a deeper, more comprehensive level of feedback than the Basic Development Notes. I explore your screenplay’s key strengths and weaknesses in detail, providing clear, logical recommendations for improvement while challenging you to think more critically about your creative choices.

You’ll gain practical insight you can immediately apply to your rewrite, along with fresh perspective that helps unlock stronger storytelling decisions. The service also includes a follow-up email, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and clarify any points from the notes — so you can move forward with confidence and momentum.

Annotated Script Notes

This service includes everything in the Extended Development Notes — plus my first-pass reactions written directly onto your screenplay as I read. You’ll see exactly where moments land, where clarity slips, and where opportunities for stronger impact emerge, line by line and scene by scene.

If your script is in Final Draft, I’ll use the built-in ScriptNote function so you can view and respond to notes seamlessly within your file. If you’d prefer handwritten notes on a printed copy, that option is available for an additional fee to cover printing and postage, agreed in advance.

This service is ideal for advanced drafts when you want precise, detailed feedback on what’s truly working — and what isn’t — at a granular level. Perfect for tightening, sharpening, and elevating a script that’s close to submission or production-ready.
