I'm a suspicious person by nature, especially when people email me out of the blue and ask me to post about something, promoting one thing or another. So when I was contacted last week about promoting John Malkovich's Online Script Project I didn't reply straight away. After all I'm here to promote myself not other people/companies products.
But I have to admit it's a good idea and an opportunity to get yourself noticed. It may lead to something or nothing, but it's worth a shot.
The idea....simple! John Malkovich has written the first scene for a script and writers are invited to submit what they think happens next each month. Other writers vote for their favourites and if shortlisted Mr. Malkovich himself will give you feedback. Can't be bad.
Check it out for yourself here.
And finally, just to clarify I'm not endorsing the product sponsoring the project, not unless I get a free one, I have my standards after all ;-)

White Knight has been given a polish and posted out to the BBC Writersroom in response to a request for more of my work. Let's hope they like it.
Don't forget, 12 noon tomorrow (Wednesday 28th 2007) is the time to support our writing brothers over the pond. We're with you guys.
I'm back after my four week lay off due to a baby popping out and robbing me of sleep. Time to get down to some writing I think.
So what has happened while I've been away? Well, I didn't make the second round of the Red Plant Prize, nor did I get further than the quarter finals of the BSSC, and I didn't even get a mention with my short story in SFX's Pulp Idol Competition. On the up side Villa did beat Birmingham 2.1. NICE!!!
What have I got lined up now I'm back in front of the keyboard? First up I'll be posting out Buddha of Birmingham and White Knight to the BBC Writersroom. Next Faith, now called Paper, Scissors, Stone is going to get the second draft treatment. Then Mr. Valentine will be put through the wringer again, followed by a couple of new projects. I'm going to be a busy little bee.
It's good to be back.
